I had intended on getting this post up on Saturday but was totally frazzled trying to get everything ready for the kid’s party over the weekend. So, major mom fail on me…but I suppose it’s better late that never! The party was a big hit and I can’t wait to share all of the photos with you. But today, I’m going to share a few photos of my little princess over the last three years.
I like to consider myself a pretty patient person, but when I found out that I was pregnant with Charlotte, I was DYING to know the gender. I was constantly on online forums, reading books, and researching old wives tales that would tell you if you were having a boy or a girl. I even ordered a test on Amazon that predicted the gender…and it was all wrong.
I am a planner and had to have the entire nursery finished before I reached my halfway mark so I needed to get to work! #firsttimemomprobs. I had a couple of scares early on, so my doctor did sonograms at every appointment… and I looked forward to it at every visit! Finally, once we reached the 13 week point, the sonographer asked if I wanted to know the gender. Is that a question? of course I want to know the gender!!! Hugh was not able to attend that appointment. I considered having the sonographer write out the gender and put it in a sealed envelope, but ain’t nobody got time for that! I just decided I’d make up for it by making a gender reveal cake for him by the time he got home.
Once the sonographer informed me that I was having a little girl, I was immediately filled with joy. For the record, I was filled with the exact same amount of joy a year later when I sat in the exact same room and he told me I was having a boy. But just knowing what I was having made it seem a little more real to me. Once I came home, I began making my gender reveal cake for Hugh and Brailey. When Hugh learned that another Connor girl was moving in, he knew he was in for it! 😉 Over the last three years, she has proven herself to be the ultimate girly girl. She loves playing dress-up and asks to change her outfit no less than 5 times a day. Perhaps we have a future fashion blogger on our hands. 😉
Much like I was growing up, she can be really shy when meeting someone at first. However, once she gets comfortable, she will talk their ear off. She gets more excited about a new outfit than any other toddler you’ve ever met. Not sure where she gets it from! 😉 She loves shoes, with her favorite being her Mini Melissa’s, which she calls her “Princess Shoes.”
She loves to paint and really enjoys arts and crafts. She also has an obsession with baby dolls and loves to push them around in her stroller. She loves music and loves to sing. She looks up to her older sister and adores her baby brother…most of the time. 😉 Her favorite color is pink and her favorite book is Pinkalicious, which I could probably read with my eyes closed at this point. 😉 She is beautiful, smart, funny, sweet…and a little sassy! 😉 It truly has been a joy to watch this little girl grow over the last three years, and I see so much of myself in her every single day. Happy Birthday to you princess! We love you so much!
